HELP US STAY ALIVE FOR 2021 AND BEYOND!

We have decided to cancel the 2020 Gravediggers' Ball. Despite our efforts to devise a “Plan B,” the operational challenges posed by continuous uncertainty about COVID-19 proved too difficult for us to ensure a safe, fun event. But please be assured the Gravediggers’ Ball is not dead—it’s just been laid to rest this year!

As we're sure you understand, cancelling the Gravediggers’ Ball will leave a gap in revenue for us.  We’re hopeful that even without an event this year, you will continue to support our efforts at the level you have done in the past. The Gravediggers’ Ball is the biggest annual fundraiser for the Friends of Laurel Hill & West Laurel Hill Cemeteries, and proceeds from this event support our work as a 501(c)(3) nonprofit charitable organization. Founded in 1836, Laurel Hill is the first cemetery in the United States to become a National Historic Landmark; West Laurel Hill, established in 1869, is on the National Register of Historic Places.  Both cemeteries are unparalleled in their history, art, architecture, and landscape, and our mission of preserving and protecting these historic sites has never been more relevant given their power to provide solace, strength and connection at times of such need.
